Sub-contracted through NetSurvey to provide Sonsub Survey with specialist multibeam personnel onboard the MV Grampian Surveyor for the Medgaz project. The project involves the construction of a 210km pipeline across the Mediterranean seabed (maximum water depth 2160m), for the transport of natural gas from Algeria to Spain. Pre-lay surveys of the pipeline installation corridor were conducted using an ROV mounted Reson 7125, to produce very high-resolution DTMs in order to detect objects larger than 50cm in size. The EIVA software suite was used for initial data acquisition and processing, with Fledermaus used for cleaning, surface generation, and visualization.
