Contracted by MMT AB to provide a Senior Data Processor for the Total Angola AUV and Geotechnical survey project.
The project involves AUV seabed geophysical and vessel launched geotechnical surveys for the Cameia, Golfinho and UNSC developments located offshore Angola. The objectives, based on the acquired data, are to evaluate the seabed and sub-seabed conditions, potential associated hazards both geotechnical and manmade which may affect the future installation of subsea equipment and wells.
Conducted from the MV Island Pride, the simultaneous multi-AUV operations required a series of Underwater Transponder Protocol (UTP) beacons to be deployed for autonomous sub-surface positioning.
